Okay ..please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, check for the 'Total Access 2005' program and uninstall it accordingly, if listed. Hopefully, this should get rid of the issue you are having ..let me know how you get on.

Okay ..does the 'Total Access' prompt come up at startup?

When I hit the start button bottom left of screen I have an icon for earthlink total access

Okay ..now, please go back to the 'Add/Remove Programs' function, and check if there's any entry relevant to 'Earthlink' ..let me know accordingly so that I can follow up further.

yes I have an earthlink software and earthlink toolbar

Okay ..now, click on 'Change/Remove' next to the Earthlink Software entry, then click 'Continue' to uninstall the same accordingly ..check if the issue still persists thereafter.
