I havent gotten far, im trying to figure out how to work with the xml file i have.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

This is what i need to do with the xml file. I was going to use a datagridview for the table. How can I change the xml so it just has the important information in the table?

Create a GUI using Windows Forms that does the following:

1. Read in an XML file

2. Display the contents of the file in a table

3. Allow the user to add/edit/remove the file’s contents

4. Allow the user to save the file back out in the same XML format

I'm reviewing your files now.

What version of Visual Studio do you use?

Expert:  Ingo U replied 1 year ago.

Why did you mention "not in the standard xml format" in your original question?
The XML file looks normal enough to me...

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

visual studio community 2015

it is standard, i was mistaken. im not so familiar with xml.

Expert:  Ingo U replied 1 year ago.

Here's a simple demo app to show you how it can be done.

Be sure to unzip to a folder on your disk before opening with VS2015

Your XML is a little "unusual" for this purpose because it has an extra level of nesting:
"ExampleObjectContainer" contains a single "Objects" which contains individual "ExampleObjects".

The DatagridView seems to be able to figure it out, but if you have any control over the XML file,

I would eliminate one of the outer containers, at least for clarity. If your application becomes more involved, there may be other issues to necessitate it.

Hope that helps!
