.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have an error when I upload my videos. It will not let me upload the video. The message reads Exception - Expected response code 200, got 400 yt:validationtoo_longmedia:group/media:title/text()
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

How large is the file?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It didn't give me the chance to upload it. I remember another tech saying I have another name similiar on the page so that's the reason I am getting the error. But I don't know which to change.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It's showing the homepage when I try to upload a video.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

OKay, that would make sense.....you cant have 2 files with the SAME file name in the SAME folder.

So, changing the video file name....just by adding in another letter or number will change the file name.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It's not letting me upload anything. I can't figure out which to change.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Did you run out of space on your Moodle account?

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Are you setting up a Course?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

To add files to a Moodle course, you must first ensure you have the editing turned on

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

The Turn Edit On or Off option can be found as a link in the administration block or as a button at the top right of a course homepage.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I can add files and delete them. But, I am stuck.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Wait, you said you couldnt upload ANYTHIGN.....and now you say you CAN.....im confused.

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Customer: "It's not letting me upload anything. I can't figure out which to change."

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Right. I have the rights to upload but I'm getting an error.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

But the files you upload are working YES?

Let me get this straight.....you CAN upload, and the upload WORKS, and the files are visible, and can be downloaded......but you get an error message......but the error message....does it STOP you form doing somethign?

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Or, does the error message STOP you form Uploading ANYTHING?

Or just videos?

DO all files (documents, zip files, pictures) give you error message?

.

Im getting conflicting information from you, and its hard to determine WHICH is correct.

.

SO, at one point you said you CANT upload because of error message, and then you said you COULD upload.......so im confused.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The error message will not let me upload any videos to Youtube.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

okay, WHERE is the ACTUAL video file being stored?

By that i mean, where does the FILE actually live?

Does it live on your computer? or does it live on YouTube?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
on my computer. I have uploaded several already.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
But early today I go the error.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Okay, can you take a screen shot of the error message please, and post it here...use the paperclip icon

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Also.....do you HOST your Own server.....or is there a provider for the server hosting?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
i do not want my school name posted here. Is there another way.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

black it out on the picture....edit the picture, and black out the name

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sent
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

That does NOT show me an error message. It just says pick a video, and it might take awhile to upload. But no error message.

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

You RED'd out all the info....i cant see anything about an error message.

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

im not sure i understand WHAT you are doing exactly?

But i found out that:

If you have your own video you want to add to Moodle, you can upload it just like any other file or embed it in a Moodle page using the Moodle Media button. If it is a large file (over 100MB) or a longer video, it is best to contact ITS to upload your file to our streaming video server. Email *****@******.*** with your request.

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

AND:

The easiest way to add a YouTube video is to add a link to the video, by adding a URL resource. Copy the URL of the YouTube video and paste it into the address of the URL resource.

You can also embed a video from YouTube into your course using the following steps:

  • Add a new Page in Moodle (under resources)
  • Go to the HTML source view by clicking on the filmstrip button in the content box. A pop up will appear.
  • Go to YouTube or Vimeo and copy the video embed code. This is under the "Share" link.
  • Head back to Moodle. In the pop up window, paste the video URL in the field labeled "Enter URL".
  • In the next field, give your video a friendly name.
  • Click the "Insert" button.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

AND:

The process of embedding (WHich judging by the picture you uploaded here, is what you are doing) is a great, simple way for you to add externally-hosted videos to your Moodle course (that is, videos from outside resources such as TED.com). Embedding is an ideal option because it allows you to add engaging videos to your site without contributing to the overall size of your course, like you would if you were to manually upload the actual video file. This has the bonus side effect of helping your course load quickly (smaller courses load faster).

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

I think that is WHY you are not given a choice to CHOOSE a video from your computer.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No, the tech at school removed the error but I can't remember how he did it.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

you can Upload, or you can INsert (also called Embedding)

.

UPloading you are famalier with.....but EMbedding (inserting) is different

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That is the error. It also has code embedded.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Well, I'm out of options.

I dont know if its an issue with the server, or your computer.

.

Without SEEING it first hand.....its the type of issue that cant be helped on a Q and A session.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Okay, I will ask tech support in the morning.
Expert:  BigDish101 replied 1 year ago.

One of the colleges I've been to used Moodle and if I recall they should have their own tech support for it. There should be a support link on the moodle page somewhere and it should have a phone number or at least a email address.
