Consider Column A is one group of answers and Row 1 is the other group of answers.

In B2 (sorry) on "Entry point" you enter a value that is either exact to a value in the array on "Data" B1:e6 or close (within 10%). this will return the cell contents in the matching row that is found in Column a. Example b2 is 265 this would return Cell a3 "eee" as this is the closest match to cell C3. then from this value in b2 it would return 22 from C:3 in a second cell C3).

2nd Example: B2= 773 this would return the value in cell A6 for one answer( c2 and D1 "11" for the second answer.C3

C3 is in the entry point sheet sorry this would be an added cell for the second part of the answer. Or the equivalent of your D2.

If you look at the spread sheet that I sent you I enter data in the e15:g51 and it calculates a value in H15:51. H5looks up that smallest value in h15:51 and places that value there. From there I compare H5 to the array on "Pump Seletr Worksheet d20:g25 and find the value in C20:25 that is on the same row as the closest match to the value in H5 place that value in F3 Pump work sheet look ups". Then from again the information in H5 go back to the Pump selectr Worksheet d20:25 and from the corresponding cell go up to row and d18:g18 and select the value to place in F4 Pump work sheet look ups.

I cannot get the formulas to work in my sample sheet. I will send you the updated version with the two formulas highlighted in yellow.

All i get is "ref" in the answers. When i run each segment of the formula seperate I get the appropriate answers.

I does it should do but does not accomplish what I wanted. The premise is to look up the first value that matches in the array and return that row to the "injector color" the corresponding timer setting number in the other cell. If when I change the value in H5 the answer comes back as "Ref" The reason as I can see is it finds all the locations in the array and adds them together and comes up with a location outside of the array which is why there is an error message. Also why do I need to refer to the whole column "C") in the first lookup and the whole Row "19" in the second lookup for timer. why can't I just zero in on the Array by itself. I will continue to make changes until I get it correct. thanks for you help.

I am sending up a link for the results I want to see. See Blue Tex box. Teh other alternative is to create 3 colunns A values to look up, B color, C timer settings. Use Vlookup to find the first closest match to the value in H5 and return to f3 the color and f4 the correct timer setting.
