Okay if it is that close, you're best off hardwiring it then, just plugging the tv to the router with a lan/ethernet cable.

This will give you a more stable and faster connection, there is no benefit to using wifi if the router is right behind it. In some cases it is actually too close and the router is not broadcasting a signal that close, due to the beamforming used to project the signal out to longer distances.

If it isn't picking it up, go into the vizio menu, under system or advanced, and then to admin/reset and choose the reset option, then it will scan for networks again after

That may be part of the issue,

this is a pretty basic low quality tv, it does not support dual band networks, meaning it won't work for 5g, it would only work for 2.4ghz networks, so that needs to be set back and see if it will connect that way.

There is a good chance it would, yes.

Assuming what the tv is showing as the neighbor networks is actually accurate and not just stuck in the tv memory (despite the reset), it is quite possible too that the internal wifi adapter inside the tv has failed. That is a pretty common issue especially on such an extremely old model.

Rather than getting a cheaper router that will degrade the performance of your other devices, or replacing the vizio with a new/better model, your next best option is to connect an external streaming device or media player (which start at as little as $30) such as a roku or fire tv or appletv and get all the same functions and many more, with better performance and lower cost.
