amp; 5g bands. I've tried...

I have a NetGear Model Ex7000 WiFi range extender with 2g & amp; 5g bands. I've tried to get internet on my iPhone 10R, 6, and ipad using both bands. The devices recognize the extender 2gext and 5gext bands but apps like Pandora and iHeart Radio won't function. They do on the home router. Is there a problem with the devices or the router?

I have not reset it recently but had to do it repeatedly when I first installed the router. I made the mistake of installing a firmware update which screwed everything up. It took four hours for a net gear tech to uninstall the firmware and return the router to factory specs. I was then able to get my Samsung smart TV apps to work using the wireless extender 2 & 5g bands which then allowed internet. When my Apple devices log in to the Wi-Fi extender, they get an error message saying: “Internet service is not available“. Alex, if a device connects to the router, shouldn’t the Internet be automatic?

It should be automatic yes. But not if the wifi is separated into two bands.

I get Wi-Fi on all of my devices when they are on the base Wi-Fi router. The TV gets Wi-Fi on all three: the base router, 2G And 5G bands. The other devices can get Wi-Fi on the base router but not on the two and 5G. Could this be a configuration of the Apple devices?Oh BTW, the base router is not a 2 band router, only the extender.

The router needs to be two band too. That is the problem!

Just kidding, it is a two wire with 2.4 G and 5G channels. I logged in to the router IP address and the extender is showing up on the list of active devices. The 5 GHz traffic statistics are showing many errors the other traffic statistics no errors. The extenders SSID is the same as the primary SSID on the router, and both are showing as active. Wi-Fi is showing enabled for all networks and in both channels.
