Hi, I have a DP-1665 as an access point and it has stopped responding or froze up on me now twice. It is about 2 years old. When I shut it off with the switch on the back and turn it back on it then works again.

Technician's Assistant: When did you last change your Wi-Fi password?

Never

Technician's Assistant: Have you connected to this Wi-Fi network from a laptop or desktop (either Mac or PC) in the past?

It is set up for our security camera system and our iphones and ipad transfer to it automaticly when we are in the garage where it is

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Network Expert to know before I connect you?

I thought you were the expert LOL No

When last did you update the firmware on your access point? And may I know whether the access point is connected directly to a power outlet or a power strip/surge protector?

It is hooked into a UPS with power surge protection and I have not updated the firmware ever.

May I know whether you have a Desktop computer or a laptop connected to the access point at the moment? If so, we can login to the settings page and check the current firmware, if there is an update available we can update it on the access point

There is no computer on that network only the nightowl security system and cameras

I believe I have already given you 2 suggestions.

1. Try connecting the access point directly to a wall outlet and monitor if that happens again or not.

2. Check the firmware version on the access point and update it if it needs one.
