I just bought a...

I just bought a netgear wireless N-300 usb adapter for my desk top and it cant find the device, what can I do?

Technician's Assistant: What have you tried so far?

Tried to install it using the disk. But while in the process after I plug in the adapter the message box start to flicker and give the message that it can not find the device.

Can you tell me which version of Windows you have on your computer?

If you're not sure of your version, do
this:

On your keyboard, hold down the Windows logo key to the left of the spacebar and press R.

The Run box will open.

In the text area type: winver and click OK.

A window will open telling you which Windows you have. (XP, Vista, 7, 8 or 10)

Please perform the following steps. Click the start menu button and open Settings (the gear icon)

Open Network & Internet. With Status selected from the vertical menu on the left

look to the bottom of the page and click Network Reset>>Reset Now.

The process takes about 5 minutes and requires a restart. You'll receive a notification at the 2 minute to restart mark.

Once it has restarted try installing the adapter again.

Plug the adapter in to a different USB port if possible and run the installation software.

Is the Network Adapters category expanded, showing an unidentified device.

Thanks. That's the adapter for connecting to a router with a network cable.

At the top of the list in Device Manager you'll see your computer name at the top.

Right-click on it and select Scan for hardware changes

to see if it can find the adapter.

Sorry to tell you now. But yes there was another device under network adapters. Was with the name of other devices ; USB2.0 WLAN. I Just plug my pc to a lan and goud the following drivers
