My Asus tablet won't connect to my wifi because it has an authentication problem!

Technician's Assistant: Are you able to connect using an ethernet cable?

I don't know. I'm an elderly person so not that tech savvy I'm afraid

Technician's Assistant: Which lights are colored and/or blinking on your router?

What's a router? Is that my wifi box or something on my device? I bet you're having a lot of laughs!

Technician's Assistant: The Network Technician will be able to walk you through that. Anything else you want the Network Expert to know before I connect you?

We can get the password ***** this.

Press the windows key + R and type in

ncpa.cpl

Press enter

Right click on the wireless connection and click on Status

Then click on wireless properties

Click on the Security Tab and then click on Show Characters and you can then see the wireless password ***** to use

This is the key to the left of Alt with the windows logo button on it

Now I've lost the connection with wifi on my netbook. Maybe that's something I did! Sorry but I'm too nervous to continue with a 'remote' person helping me. I feel I'm going to waste my money and your time, because I don't really know what I'm doing! Thanks anyway

I got thru your previous instructions giving me the Network security key. Sure, i KNOW my password ***** that's not the issue. The tablet is not connecting me even when I've put the password ***** - several times! Thnx but I'm closing the session, having spent my €32 - to no avail!!

Hi there

The Authentication error means your network rejects the password ***** being incorrect, it is the only reason for giving this.

Someone there may have changed it but if you could please tell the make and model of the wifi router we can check this.
