Besides plugging in, how do I install Linksy?

Technician's Assistant: How much experience do you have with this particular machine?

Jumped thru all the hoops when purchased, to no avail! My IPhone would recognize it, but did not work.

Technician's Assistant: What happened right before this popped up?

Too long ago. Cant remember.

Technician's Assistant: What troubleshooting have you tried?

Just plugged it back in upstairs. Green light turned to yellow blinking light.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Network Expert to know before I connect you?

An older lady here, who will eventually type a word when left long enough in front of the keyboard!

Ask Your Own Networking Question

Which model Linksys do you have?

Ask Your Own Networking Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
No clue! It is upstairs and I am down. Will go retrieve!

Thank you

RE6400
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
OK

The RE6400 is a range booster; not a router.

Are you boosting the signal upstairs and the router is downstairs?

Ask Your Own Networking Question

On the side of the booster, you will see the WPS button. Press the button and go to your router now and press the WPS button on there within 2 minutes.

Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Done! I think! Button on top of the router?

Yes, that is the one.

Now, look on a device (computer or phone) and check out the available Wi-Fi networks.

Do you see the Wi-Fi network with _ext under it?

Ask Your Own Networking Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
On phone am seeing my wifi and Linksy Extender showing. No addresses.

What do you mean by no addresses?

Ask Your Own Networking Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
But maybe what I was supposed to see! Navigate phone better than computer!

What do you mean by no addresses?

Ask Your Own Networking Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
ext is short for extender??

Yes, it is.

_ext is the extender

Ask Your Own Networking Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
OK! Showing up with my wifi address, but got that far before and phone would not work when connected!
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
smart tv still buffered... That little circle gets boring and time consuming!

Did you connect both devices again to the network?

Ask Your Own Networking Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Smart tvs are upstairs and im down!

Yes, I understand but you will need to connect all devices back to the network since you connected it again.

Ask Your Own Networking Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Have not disconnected any. Just trying to fire up product I purchased and get it to work!

Yes, I understand but we just setup the network for you so you will need to connect the TVs to the network.

Ask Your Own Networking Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Think I get that, but it would take a few minutes! Phone with me to alert response! thx!

Okay, thank you.

Ask Your Own Networking Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Plan is to move the Linksy Extender upstairs, so TVs reach signal better!

Okay, let me know how it goes.

Ask Your Own Networking Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Forgot TVs are so smart, one has to tell them, there's a new kid on the block! One TV is on, but need to set up the big one! STARZ became a buffer every 2 minutes last evening! That can certainly eat up one's evening with frustration! So safe to move device upstairs??
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Just push WPS again or no?

You should not need to press it again -- If you do not see the _ext network listed then you will need to do it but you should be okay without pressing it
