Trouble connecting my Kindle to Wi-Fi

Technician's Assistant: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?

Hp laptop. 4 years old . Kindle reader 1 year 0ld

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?

Only 2 hours . Recently changed Telstra internet service to residence with wi-fi

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the E-reader Expert to know before I connect you?

The problem is that the downloading doesn't seem to recognize my Kindle /amazon password ***** downloading books as it did prior to changing internet provider.

What is the make / model of your Internet modem/router device?
Do also you have a laptop / wireless computer that is currently connected via wireless? If yes, does it have Windows xp, vista, or 7, 8, 10, or Mac?
