I purchased a AC1200 wireless USB adapter for my Dell

Customer Question

I purchased a AC1200 wireless USB adapter for my Dell desktop computer. The desktop is running Windows 10 which was an upgrade from Windows 7. I can not get the adapter to access the internet. It indicates that the wifi doesn't have a valid IP configuration and that the Local Area connection also doesn't have a valid IP configuration.
JA: Have you tried unplugging your router for about ten seconds? And what about other devices? Do they have connectivity?
Customer: Other devices have connectivity. I am using my laptop on the same router now.
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I ran the CD that came with the adapter and followed the instructions. The adapter found the network and asked for the password ***** I entered. The blue lights on the adapter are lit.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I ran the windows troubleshooting which gave me the messages I indicated.
JA: Anything else you want the network expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

Hi. My name is***** you for your question and the opportunity to assist.

With the adapter still plugged in to your computer please perform these steps:

Click the start menu button and open Settings (the gear icon)

On the Settings page click Network & Internet

From the vertical menu on the left side of the page select Status

At the bottom of the page click
Network Reset>>Reset Now

The process takes about 5 minutes and requires a restart (you'll get a notification at the 2-minute-to-restart mark)

Once the process has finished try connecting again.

Let me know the result please.
