Ask Computer Networking Questions and Get Answers ASAP
Hi. My name is***** you for your question and the opportunity to assist.
Can you tell me the brand and model of your laptop and the version of Windows
that is on it?
Thank you. Please perform these steps:
Click the start menu button and open Settings (the gear icon)
On the Settings page click Network & Internet
From the vertical menu on the left side of the page select Status
At the bottom of the page clickNetwork Reset>>Reset Now
The process takes about 5 minutes and requires a restart (you'll get a notification at the 2-minute-to-restart mark)
Let me know the result please.
Ok. Are the laptop and desktop both connecting to the internet through the same router?
Oh. So you're just trying to get the laptop connected to the internet?
Thanks. If the reset is done, try connecting again.
From the vertical menu on the left side of the page select Wi-fi
It should show as ON
How long ago did this start happening?
Right-click on the start menu button and select Run.
Type in: rstrui.exe and click OK
System Restore will open.
Click Next. Put a checkmark in the Show More Restore Points box if you see it.
Select a restore date when the wi-fi was working and click Next then Finish.
Say continue when you see the warning and run the restore.
See if your wireless is back to working after the restore is done.
Good morning. Did the restore get the wi-fi working?
