Customer Question

My network is not working and one of the troubleshooting ideas is to restart my modem. How should indo this?
JA: Can you describe your network setup (devices and cables used)?
Customer: Directv broadband adapter, modem, airport extreme router.
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: My printer wasnt working and i unplugged some wires and now my internet is down.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Shutting everything down and restarting. Making sure all cables and wires are connected properly. Mac network diagnostics.
JA: Anything else you want the network expert to know before I connect you?

OK. If you haven't already, please unplug your modem (and router if you have two devices) from an electrical outlet. Leave them unplugged for about 1 minute and then replug them. Let me know what LED lights you see on your modem.
