My laptop will not connect to the internet. It says my

My laptop will not connect to the internet. It says my wireless is connected but won't let me on. Also says limited access and that ethernet cable is unpluged. It isn't. Have unplugged,restated ect.
JA: Have you tested the connections by doing a ping utility test?
Customer: Don't know what that is
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Nothing. I signed in
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I called netgear yesterday and was on the phone 3 HOURS and I was tired of them saying they could help. I'unplugged reset tested the ethernet with home computer and it workds. Could it be in the ubs plug
JA: Anything else you want the network expert to know before I connect you?
