I turned on my smart tv and I cannot get Netflix or anything

Customer Question

I turned on my smart tv and I cannot get Netflix or anything else on my smart tv. The message is my LAN feature is invalid? What do I do to fix that?
JA: Can you describe your network setup (devices and cables used)?
Customer: This has never happened before. What do you mean network set up?
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I was going to watch Netflix and the message popped up. None of the smart tv CatGories are working they all have the same message
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I went to the set up and everything seems to be the way it's always been. I don't want to push any more buttons for fear of really messing it up
JA: Anything else you want the network expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: What does LAN stand for?

Hi, I'm Nathan.
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with this but I'll do my best to help you.

What is the model of the tv?

Are you using wired or wireless?

LAN is local area network, which in this case means it is not connected to your router. First check the cord (if wired), if wifi go into the tv settings menu and check that it is showing as connected to the wifi, if not you'll need to reconnect (pick your network, enter password).
