JA: Have you tested the connections by doing a ping utility test?
Customer: no
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: my usual start windows and then attemp to sign on to AOL
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: checked out McCaffry settings and deleted AOL connection service . . . no change with either
JA: Anything else you want the network expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: that's all i can offer for my understanding

I can use Microsoft's IE to sign on but AOL will not sign on . . .

so you have internet access, but can not get on AOL?

correct . . . i re-installed AOL Desktop but that didn't help

Sounds like one of two issues, you used incorrect password ***** than three times which locks you out (very easy to do) Or AOL them selves are having an outage.

but not the software desktop app?

CORRECT MY AOL loads and i can utilize the search box but will not sign-on to AOL

That sounds like an issue on AOLs side....they own and update and operate that software......if you can log into your AOL mail etc, but not their software they are having some sort of outage
