Wow! So quick! I have a satellite service and an EA2700

Customer Question

Wow! So quick! I have a satellite service and an EA2700 router that was hacked last weekend. The hacker changed the router name and settings. I have manually reset default settings but cannot connect to the router to reconfigure it.
JA: Can you describe your network setup (devices and cables used)?
Customer: Where are my manners? Hi Pearl!
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: At the moment I have a crossover cable connected directly to the satellite decoder. Usually the EA2700 is connected to the decoder and we use wireless to connect to the router. If I recable to the router, Windows tells me I can connect to a Cisco07229 open network but the Cisco setup software cannot find it.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Before the hack?
JA: Anything else you want the network expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I downloaded the setup software, I have manually reset twice and tried connecting by typing the router IP address and the setup software. The setup software says it cant find my network.

Do you have the make and model of the router you are trying to configure?
