All of a sudden, I'm get a 5.7.1 Authenion need notice.
JA: Can you describe your network setup (devices and cables used)?
Customer: Verizon FIOS Thunderbird and i am next to the router.
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Nothing that I noticed.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I went through all my Thunderbird settings and nothing seems unusual
JA: Anything else you want the network expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: In the past when i got this message somehow my Thunderbird settings were screwed up

The "5.7.1 Authentication" message usually means that the SMTP server couldn't authenticate you as a legitimate user.

Does this happen only when you try to send email, or receive email, or both?
