I have a new ac1200 model ex6150 extender and cannot make…

okay, lets get a few things squared away.

Century Link is your Internet Service Provider. YOu pay them a fee every month for Internet service (you could also be paying them for other services as well, but that is another story)

Secondly, the Make and Model i still need for the provider issued device. They have many many different models that they use, and i cant know which one you have unless you look at it, and tell me.

Also FYI..........ANOTHER DIFFERENT EXPERT (like me) has accepted the Secure Remote Assistance that was either.....Option-1 Auto generated and you mistakenly clicked on it, or, Option-2 You purposely chose to open a secure remote assistance request.

Either way, it was opened, and now a different expert OWES you this service, or request a refund for the secure remote assistance.

But as of right now, the request was accepted by another different expert (not me) and i am NOT allowed or able to do the service because the other expert accepted it.

The WPS buttons you are trying to use, only work when the range extender is close enough to the MAIN unit.

Now, i dont really recommend using WPS anyways....but rather.....use the Web config tool that is built-in to the range extender.

Have you ever used a range extender before?

Do you know the concepts of how it WILL work?

Think of the Main Unit SIGNAL as a large sphere.

That sphere is refered to as a CELL.

Obviously, the closer you are to the CENTER of the cell, the stronger the signal.

As you get to the edge of the cell, the signal begins to fade, and become sporadic, and overall useless.

The object here is to place the range extender just inside the cell, and not too close to the edge of the main unit cell, but close enough to the edge to make using the range extender practical.

Now, once the range extender turns on, ANOTHER cell is created.

.

During the setup of the range extender you MUST be WELL within the main cell. After the initial setup, you can MOVE the range extender to the fringe of the main cell, and begin using it.

This type of setup, can be complicated, if you are VERY unfamaliar.

I would like to do a remote session so i can connect to your computer, and then to the range extender to configure it to your network.

But the other expert already got that, so i am not able to offer that as an additional service, and therefore do the remote session.

Lets try to do the WPS setup once again, as you might have NOT been close enough, or done it within the allotted time allowed.

Your MAIN unit, and the Range extender need to be in the SAME ROOM (within 20 feet of each other) to do the INITIAL SETUP.

Once you have the Range extender in the same room and powered on, as the Main unit.

You will go through the process of setup.

You dont get rid of the other expert, you have to request a refund for the ADDITIONAL SERVICE OFFER the other expert accepted, and ask that it be credited to ME instead.
