Hello and welcome.

What version of Windows have you got on them?

Have you tried mapping the drives remotely?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Windows 7 on all compNot sure what mapping the drives remotely implies.?
Expert:  Martin replied 1 year ago.

It would involve you getting the IP address for the computer that has the files you want to access and use the command line to create a shortcut folder from the computer you're on so you can access it easily.

I can do it for you via a remote session if you like.

Otherwise, open a cmd prompt and grab the IP address of the target computer, then from the source computer use the net use command to map it:

net use x: \\destinationIP\source\to\share /persistent:yes

It may be a little complex for you to do if you're not tech savvy which is why I offered remote assistance

I didnt have to do this last time i connected my laptop to my home network. Why is my girlfriend's computer is gving me a hardtime since it is a fresh install of same window?
Expert:  Martin replied 1 year ago.

I can do it for you via a remote session if you like.

The reasons for it not working could be endless - a firewall, TCP/IP settings, sharing not being enabled for personal files, anti virus software, etc

Let me know if you'd like me to have a look at it for you so I can tell you the reason and help you find a solution.

Do we need to remote from main admin comp or from my girlfriend computer i am trying to connect? Or both?
Expert:  Martin replied 1 year ago.

I could probably work from the main admin comp but might have to work on both.
