Hi there and welcome Mary

Can you please hold the home and power buttons for about 10 seconds on the iPhone until you see the Apple Logo, then release.

Let the phone restart and tell me please if the touchscreen is now working.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'll try again, so far did not work.

Did the apple logo come up Mary?

And did it then restart?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Aha! I got the reply function back. Yes it restarted, still doesn't work.

You will have to reset the iPhone, This will remove all data but you cannot avoid this

To do the reset

Connect the phone to the computer and open itunes

Hold the power and home button down until you see

"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode..."

Click Restore Phone, let this complete and it should now work

Let me know the results please

Thank you

Here's what happened. Since I had trouble connecting back with the Just Answer Web site, I took it to an Apple Store where they fixed it for free. I didn't lose any data. Clearly I had no idea how your Web site worked. I would like to recommend that the webmaster get rid of 85%of the ads and put in a bit more instruction. Anyway, I asked PayPal for a refund. Don't know how I'll make out but I probably wouldn't have followed your advice as I didn't want to lose my data. So live and learn. Thanks anyway.
