Is the light that's changing colors the top light (link rate light)? see attachment

it goes from red to green and back, I see the router on my tablet but when I try to connect it does it automatically and does not ask me for passwords,

That light should be solid, whatever color it is. Reset the extender.

With the extender powered on, use a pen or straightened paper clip

and hold down the reset button on the back of the extender until the Status light (the one on the middle)

flashes. After a minute or two, look on your tablet for a wireless network called NETGEAR_EXT

and connect to it. (you won't need a password)

Once connected, open the browser on your tablet and go to

That should open the extender setup wizard which will walk you through connecting

to your wireless network. You will be asked for your wireless password ***** make sure to have it handy.

You don't have to use the tablet. A wireless laptop or PC will do as well.

Try to have the extender as close as possible to the router when setting it up.

Hi. Were you able to get the extender set up and working?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I did get to the Genie setup....but the light contniues to be solid red or green. I will try it again with a different password.

If the computer you are using now is connected to your wireless run this utility:

It will take you to a Brother page and a utility download should start immediately.

Run the utility.

Accept the license agreement

Put a checkmark in the box and click Next.

A progress window will open and once it completes

another window will open showing the name of your wireless network: SSID

and your Network Key. The Network Key is your wireless password.

It is case sensitive and must be entered in the extender exactly as you see it

displayed on the page.
