I can see you are a first time user to the site. What we do here is either a question and answer type of conversation or remote support where I would actually connect to the computer and have a look and attempt to fix the problem for you.

Remote support can save a lot of time if you are not comfortable performing repairs yourself. Sometimes even with instructions you can make a mistake and make things worse.

I will send an offer through for remote support and should you accept I will connect and see what is going on and fix the issue. Otherwise we can continue to talk like this but I will need to ask a number of other questions and try and walk you through some steps.

Both options are 100% guaranteed by the way. Remote is just quicker and avoids the risk of you making a mistake and doing something wrong.

I offered to do a remote desktop as trying to explain instructions for this is counter productive as opposed to just going on your computer and fixing this myself.

example is I asked for the email program but you replied with the version of windows you have Mike.

ok.. we will have to assume it is I guess, so understand if the instructions you cannot do, as it means you have another version.

Click File, Account Settings, Then click on your account and click on more settings.

Go to Outgoing Server and make sure it is set to use Same username and password ***** incoming server

Can you confirm it is set this way please

Its probably an older version outlook.
Went to acct settings, data file mgmt
then
Data file, settings,archive folder,
Filename, format,change password,
Compact nowIt would dave us a lot of time if we can
talk on cell.

Ok, you did completely different instructions to what I indicated, I never mentioned data file mgmt, as I explained, I will remote to your computer and do this directly, its the same cost as me calling you.
