My iPad won't connect to wifi. I keep getting a 169.254. IP

Customer Question

My iPad won't connect to wifi. I keep getting a IP address. I have reset the network settings, renewed the lease, turned off the wifi, turned off blue tooth, turned off the iPad, and still nothing. I am using a hotel wifi, so I cannot reset the router. It was working a couple of days ago, and now it's not

Hi there,

The hotel may have run out of IP addresses available for new leases.

Try connecting to a different wifi network and if it works ok there, this confirms that the hotel needs to expand their range of available IP addresses.

Unfortunately all of the networks don't work.

Have you only tried hotel networks, or have you also tried a home network?

What IP address ranges are you getting from a privately held wireless network?
