Thanks for your question. My name is ***** ***** I look forward to assisting you.
Can you give a little more information on your problem please?
You mean your computer cannot connect to your wireless network which is with Hughes Net?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I have to connect the Hughes Net modem directly to one computer. It will not work through my Netgear router as it did before.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Only when modem is directly in a computer. No router will work.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I use a Netgear router, and no it will not recognize or Hughes Net does not recognize wifi.
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
ok, you need to configure the netgear to work as a bridged device for the Hughes modem. Did you set this up before?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
No. I allowed a student to do it
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
ok, then we will do this here.
It is easier to explain here then over the phone.
Make sure the Netgear is connected to the Hughes via the LAN port on the Netgear, NOT the WAN or INTERNET port.
But from one of the 4 ports on the netgear
confirm this please.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I think so.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Obviously the router did not work. Can you call me?
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Sorry I explained about the calling.
I dont understand
"Obviously the router did not work"
I asked please if you can confirm your connecting the LAN port of the router to the Hughes modem.
This is what I need to know from you please.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Is there actually someone on line, or do I just add this to many of my mistakes in giving out credit card?
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
I am online, and waiting please on you to answer the question I keep asking.
Is there a reason you wont answer it?
I will again repeat it.
Make sure the Netgear is connected to the Hughes via the LAN port on the Netgear, NOT the WAN or INTERNET port.
But from one of the 4 ports on the netgear
confirm this please.
you just need to confirm thats how you have been connecting it....
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Should I try later, or am I being charged for something that is not happening.
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
It is of course up to you
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Can you tell me of the five choices on a Netgear router which I should attach my main modem cable?
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
any of them,
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I will, but I doubt I can then contact you. If I do not in 5 minutes, it's not hooked up right.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I placed it in a yellow marked one.
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
long as it is in one of the Lan ports thats all we need as the first step, which is what I asked you way back initially to confirm.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I placed it in a yellow marked one. NO. now another==no. another==another---None worked so it is hardwired back into the computer. What do I do in my computer to make it work?
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
ok, I will attempt to work with you on this one more time else I will have to opt out as I have only been repeating the same question to you since the very start of this interaction.
All I wanted you to do is confirm that when you have been getting this to work, you are plugging the cable from the Hughes Modem into one of the LAN ports (the 5 ports) on the Netgear.
Please I ask to refrain from responding about why you have to pay ect.... and just reply to this one question I have been repeatidly asking....
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Respond?
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Sorry I dont understand your response.
I really was hoping you had read my message and would respond to it.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
No response. Please allow me to use this inconvenient trial with no charge. Goodbye.
