I turn the machine on and press the wifi button. There is no screen on the printer to give any further instructions and the computer only shows that the printer is off line and gives no instructions.

Yes, it worked previously. I had trouble getting it connected when I first got it (whatever happened to plug-n-play?) but somehow it got connected (quite by accident, I'm sure).

Go to Start, Devices and Printers.
Then right click on printer and select whats printing.
Then click on Work Offline so it is unchecked and then try to print.

I'm using windows 8 (which I HATE). so when I go to start where exactly do I find devices. If I go to the top or bottom corner of my screen I can choose devices. When I do it tells me I can only print from apps. WINDOWS 8 TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!

ok, for windows 8, press the windows key and then type in
devices
and you will then see devices and printers to click on
And yes, Windows 8 makes it a lot harder!!

Found the printer, clicked and/or right clicked everything I could find and nothing gave a option to work off-line.

You need to right click on it
select whats printing.
Then click on Work Offline so it is unchecked and then try to print.

I asked you to do a set of instructions, yet you did something completely different, so I am repeating the instructions I want you to do.
