I recently upgraded my router since then my Linksys WN3000RPv2 extender shows limited access and will not connect to internet I used this to extend wifi to my garage and had worked great until I upgraded

I'm sorry about the issue. Do you mean the Netgear WN3000RPv2 extender (not Linksys extender)?
When you set up a new router, you would need to re-set up the extender.
Have you tried to reset the extender (push & hold the Factory Reset button the extender for about 12 seconds), then re-set up the extender?
