To transfer images, files, etc from that phone, you will have to do it via a usb cable to your computer.

- Download Bitpim and install it from this site: http://www.bitpim.org/#download
- Open Bitpim
- Plug the phone into your computer via usb
- In Bitpim, choose "other CDMA phone on COM? detected).
- Choose Edit > Settings > and choose your phone's model name
- Choose the port that the phone shows
- Click Phone Wizard
- Choose LG as the manufacturer
- Choose your model name
- Click next, choose the same port from above, and click Next
- Do NOT click "Detect" phone.
- Click FINISH
- Click Ok
- Go to the top left to "Data" and the dropdown to get "Get Phone Data" Click that.
- Click the wallpaper looking box. This will pull up your photos.
- Click Media, choose the images you want to keep and save each one. (right click and choose save).

where do I find "other CDMA phone on COM? detected"... it said it downloaded driver/s...then said no phone detected, please run settings...I have Bitpim settings window open now...

yes, but I'm with you on 'my' desk top, and am wanting/trying to run Bitpim on wife's laptop...I'm assuming I need to open Justanswers on her laptop first...right?...and should I 'X' out of Bitpim while we connect remote screen sharing?

also, should I unplug phone from laptop

You save the images in the Bitpim application to a folder on your computer.

Then you can transfer them to your new phone. What is the brand and model name of your new phone, please?

the newer phone is a LG840G...tried to remove back so I could look for model number under battery, but having problem getting back off

You should be able to just plug in the new phone, go to My computer > Removable drive (DCIM) and copy the images from the computer to that folder.

do I export media from Bitpim to file on computer, then do as you said above, and when I plugged in phone, and it says connect as mass storage...

yes, when I plugged old phone in, it says other cdma phone, but doesn't show same model number as you had to use yesterday to "trick" software...remember old phone's model number wasn't on list
