I bought a Router that was never used on ebay .The router will not let me access some web sites the seller say there is a fix for this. Is he correct he will not give my money back so I am stuck with a router unless he is right that there is something that can be done please let me know.I can not connect to Comcast and Yahoo the router is a Linksys 3500

Steve Herrod :

Hi, I'll be happy to help with this

Steve Herrod :

am guessing the router may have been programmed to restrict certain sites/access

Steve Herrod :

probably the best option would be to reset it to factory defaults

Steve Herrod :

There is a button underneath the router which can reset it

Steve Herrod :

if you hold this for 5-15 seconds

Steve Herrod :

until the port lights flash at the same time

Steve Herrod :

this will restore the device to it's default settings

Steve Herrod :

and you can then check if it connects ok

Steve Herrod :

if not, and you are still unable to access certain sites

Steve Herrod :

then I would open a dispute with Ebay if the seller cannot provide further information

Steve Herrod :

Let me know how that goes

Steve Herrod :

Cheers

Customer:

I will try what you say the seller says no returns so if this doesn't work I guess I am stuck with a bad router.

Steve Herrod :

well, even if the seller says no returns then the ebay dispute mechanism should cover 'item not as described'

Steve Herrod :

so that should trigger an automatic refund once the process is complete

Steve Herrod :

let me know

Steve Herrod :

Cheers

Hi Jerry,

No problem - it can take several days but their policies are pretty good and you should be able to get a refund that way, especially if payment was via Paypal.

Cheers
