The model TM502G is only an Internet modem, not wireless router:

Do you have a wireless router? Can you check for another device that connects to the Arris TM502G device?

Customer: replied 5 years ago.

Yes, Netgear N300 wireless router WNR2000, pin 87606676.

More on Arris TM502G

The Arris TM502G is a modem often used with a router to provide wireless internet. Several internet providers use this model for their services. It can also be used as a wired connection to your computer and offers two USB ports so two computers can be connected at once.

Installing an Arris TM502G modem

Before installation you need to ensure you are setting up the modem near cable and power outlets. If you do not have a cable outlet nearby you can contact your provider to install one.

  1. Connect an end of the coax cable to either a splitter or a cable outlet. Use your hands to tighten the connection. If additional tightening is needed, you can use a 1/8 wrench.
  2. Connect the power cord into the back of the modem and plug it into an outlet.
  3. From here you can make a USB, ethernet or telephone connection.
  4. For an ethernet connection you will plug the cord into “D” on the back of the modem and the other end of the cord into the back of a computer or a router.
  5. For a USB connection, you will plug one end into the back of the modem “C” and the other end into the back of a computer.
  6. For a telephone connection hook one end of the cord into the back of the modem “A” or “B” and the other end into the telephone.
