I bought a new router and my laptop wont stay connected to

Resolved Question:

I bought a new router and my laptop won't stay connected to it. Tech support from Belkin took me through all the troubleshooting options. I was able to connect to another computer, so she determined that it was the wireless drivers in my lenovo. How do I reset them?

Hi, and thanks for using JustAnswer.com.

Do you mean another laptop is able to connect via wireless, but not the lenovo laptop?

What's the exact model of the Lenovo laptop?

Does it have windows xp, vista, or 7?

How long does it stay connected?

Thank you.

Please try the following on the problem lenovo laptop:

Please click on Start, then right-click on Computer, then click on Manage, then click on Device manager, then open/expand Network adapters and right-click on each of the items under it and click on Uninstall and confirm. Then restart the computer.

Please click on Start->All Programs->Accessories, then right-click on Command Prompt and click on Run as administrator. Then type:

netsh winsock reset , and press Enter.
ipconfig /release , and press Enter.
ipconfig /flushdns , and press Enter.
netsh int ip reset netshlog.txt , and press Enter.

Then restart the computer and check.

If needed, download and update the latest wireless driver at

I no longer have a wireless icon. You had me uninstall some routers? But now I can't connect because I need the wireless icon. How do I get that back? I did everything you instructed above.
