my wireless-g usb adapter has suddenly stopped working. I'm also unable to referesh network connectioncs. how do I reset?

Hi there and welcome

 

Please do the following

 

Restart your computer and keep pressing F8 until a menu appears

 

Choose "last known good configuration"

 

Follow the process and when it completes please test

 

Let me know if the problem persists and any error messages you see

Did you press it repeatedly as the computer was starting (the second it comes on)? Do this please until the menu appears (or windows loads)

menu came up but no test was conducted

when the menu came up, did you choose "last known good configuration"? please choose this option

Ok, can you click start, right click on computer and select manage

 

In the new windows, go to device manager and look for the wireless-g usb adapter

 

It should be under Network

 

Right click on it and select uninstall

 

Restart the computer and keep pressing F8 but this time choose safe mode with networking from the menu

 

Once windows loads, it will reload the wireless-g usb adapter.

 

When its done, restart the computer normally and test.

 

Please let me know if the problem persists

lost power so have to start over. in the process of uninstalling adapter

Sorry about the delay. Can you connect to the wireless. Then on the bottom right where the radio bars are, right click on it and select troubleshoot

 

Let it run, and if the problem is not resolved, please tell me the message on the last page (the diagnostic)
