About a week ago all...
About a week ago all three of our laptops started having trouble accessing the Internet. First thing I did (about 4 or 5 times) was re-boot both the modem and my Netgear WGR614. For about 10 - 15 minutes all would work, then all the laptops would again all lose the signal. The lights on the modem and the router indicated things were working. At first I thought it might be the modem, so I switched it with another. Again, for about 10 minutes everything was fine, then it stopped. So, I switched back to the other modem. Then, back and forth, back and forth until I went to Best Buy and bought a new router (a Netgear WNR2000). Same results. Strangely, I can hook up directly to the modem by wire without interruption. Any ideas ? I'm completely baffled.

I simply followed the basic set-up instructions. My previous configuration did have security. I haven't gotten to that step with this one yet. Is that your question?

Try implementing some wep security. maybe someone else is accessing your wireless network and either purposely causing issue or using alot of the resources lets give that a shot, also if possible swap the wire that goes between your modem and router, there may be a issue there..........

I have tried both. Still, no luck. Strangely, I seem to lose my connection (after initial re-booting success) when I'm connected directly to my router. As noted before, I replaced the router I had before with a new one. Neither is working. When I'm connected directly to my modem, everything remains fine.
