I received an email from...
I received an email from Verizon ( my ISP) telling me to change my outgoing server to 587 from 25. I did that an now can't send emails from Thunderbird. I tried to change it back to no avail. They couldn't explain why or resolve it. They told me to contact you. Please help

The email said to for security reasons. I didn't have problems until I changed it

Try restoring your computer to an early date, when the system was running fine:

Click start >

Click all programs >

Click accessories >

Click system tools >

Click system restore >

In system restore choose a date when everything was running fine >

Continue with the restore process >

Computer will restart after a restore.


Note: You will not loose any data or information during a restoration process.

Now my email won't pull up at all. I recently updated my Thunderbird version, do I need to reistall it now?

No you need to change the settings of the email. Can you let me know the present settings?

 

Also, the part after @ in your mail address?

In was in Account settings, Outgoing server. I had changed it to 587 from 25. When I tried to change it back ( Verizon rep also) nothing happened.

That is the problem now. I can't access my email since I just restored my computer. It would pull up from the icon or the program. The computer is acting as if there is no email program on it.

I undid the restore and I can access my email again. Incoming email's server incoming.yahoo.verizon.net: port 110. Outgoing server outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net; port 587; secure authentication no and none for security connection. Hope this helps.
