My Seagate Expansion Portable...

My Seagate Expansion Portable Drive (3TB) has a broken port. After I connect it to the computer the blue light does not go on. The cable is not broken. Is it a way to receive my files that are stored on my drive?

For a while. I think that the port inside the drive connecting the cable is broken. My question is: How can I retrieve the files stored on this drive?

Can you give me the model of the drive?

OK great, it's a standard SATA.

All you need to do is pry it open at the side, be very careful. Take the drive out and plug it into once of these: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-SATA-Drive-Adapter-Cable/dp/B00HJZJI84

It will attach the drive to the PC as normal and you can get your files.

Also, you can put the drive in a new enclosure and it would be as good as new also!
