Thanks for choosing Just Answer.

I'm Kumar and I'll assist you today.

Can you please let me know the model number of the Samsung Laptop?

Thanks,

Kumar

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Where do i find it?
Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Are you there?
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Flip your laptop. It should be at the back or behind the battery.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Cant get it open.
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Do you see any numbers at the back of the Laptop. I can see how to remove the battery. What we need to do is, we need to Cold Reboot your laptop to ensure we drain any excessive charge.

Thanks,

Kumar

Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

One moment

Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Quick Question. Do you see the battery compartment behind the laptop or do you see it flat?

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
I see the battery compartment but cant open it.
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

The Chronos Laptops came with Solid Back Panels. We need to understand how to get the battery removed.

Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Can you please share a photo of the back panel of the laptop

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
How
Customer: replied 12 months ago.
I dont have a screwdriver that fits it. I have tried others but they are too big.
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Okay. Lets try another way. Can you please remove external AC power from your laptop.

Press and HOLD the power button for 60 seconds.

Post 60 seconds, please plugin the AC power from Direct Main, not from a surge protector.

Turn on the device. Please see if it works.

Thanks,

Kumar

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Ok, did that but still nothing on screen. Is there not an eject button?
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

The disc has a Eject HOLE. Do you have a Pin or something? Do you see a tiny HOLE infront of the drive?

Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Can you please turn of the laptop and then turn it on. While turning on, please click on FN+DELETE.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
There is a small hole on the under side of the laptop. Ive tried that with no results. Also trie FN delete when turning in on with no results.
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Do you see BIOS options when you reboot. Can you please press F2 during Startup.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Tried F2 during startup. No results
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

The only option left is to remove the Battery Panel and rerun a Cold Reboot.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Let me search for a smaller screwdriver.
Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Oppened battery compartment. Now what?
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Please remove the battery. Press and HOLD the power button for 60 seconds. Please note no AC power is to be connected

Post 60 seconds, please do not put the battery but plugin the AC power to turn on the laptop.

Thanks,

Kumar

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
I did that. Screen still dark and disc still in laptop.
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Please see if you are able to access the drive from Back. Please be very careful as you could damage the Optical Reader.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Access it how?
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

How did you access the battery slot ? DId you open the complete back panel or just the battery unit.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Battery unit
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Can you open the Back Panel of your laptop?

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
No. Screws too tight with this small screwdriver.
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Do you have a Visibility of CMOS Battery. It should look like a small watch battery.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
i dont see anything like that.
Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Why doesnt a paperclip in the small hole open it?
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

It should, does it click when you push it inside?

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
No
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

I see. Can you use a thinner pin sort of thing instead.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
It goes in the hole easily. I dont have anything thinner.
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.

Paper Pin?

Otherwise, the only option would be to open the full back panel and remove the disc manually.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
It sounds like my only option is to take it to a computer repair store. Thanks for trying.
Expert:  Tech Ben replied 12 months ago.
