Usually just through conversations on KIK - that is most likely how they found your account.

Well the bots would be fake and harmless - unlike if you received the message from a real person at KIK.

By "through conversations" I meant conversations with others that may have mentioned your account.

I appreciate this and will bonus you. I'm just trying to figure out if this message received has any real validity so I can move on without looking over my shoulder.My username was posted on a Kik friend site. Subsequently about a half hour later i received the threatening message. I do know that it was a bot and that it WAS NOT from Kik. The Kik account hasn't received any reports and was still active. The message didn't request any money, but I did delete the account immediately, so there could have been one afterwards. It's now been ten weeks.
