i keep getting the unable to save display settings when trying to connect to a 3rd monitor
JA: When did you purchase your computer? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: i have had it for 6 years. i has a sapphire 7970 6gb graphics card, an intel i7 6 core processor and all the drivers are up to date
JA: Anything else you want the Computer Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: all three monitors are pixio PX245c's

Please try the following steps:

Step 1. Delete registry key.

1)Press Win + R to open a run box.
2)In the Run box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3)Locate the following registry subkey:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MobilePC\TMM

4)Right-click the subkey that you located in step 2. Then, click Delete.
5)When you are prompted to confirm the delete operation, click Yes.
6)On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.
7)Log off the computer. Then, log on to the computer.

Step 2. Extend your display by changing display settings.

1)Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.
2)Click the drop-down list next to Multiple displays, click Extend these displays, and then click OK.

Im using a desktop not a laptop so that will not work. I have tried all the resolutions to get it to work also

The thing is i dont fully trust this site yet. It said 5 to start but then took another 33 instantly and now yall ask for 39 more every time yall say something. All the answers ive been given so far i found looking through google before i came to this site. It dosent seem like yall know more than google and am already thunking of getting my redund.
