Customer Question

I have 2 HP 8600 printers. Call the first my printer, and the second Iris printer. They are identical
When I print to my printer, it prints with a margin from the top. When I print to Iris' printer it prints without a margin. I need it to print without the margin
I tried changing the settings in my printer to be exactly like the ones at Iris' and it didn't work.

Hi, I'm Nathan.
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with this but I'll do my best to help you.

Expert:  Nathan replied 10 months ago.

Nir, does this happen from all programs/applications?

On your printer, is part of the document cut off, or just shrunk down?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.

it happened from all program.

i deleted this printer and now I'm trying to reconnect it but i can't

Expert:  Nathan replied 10 months ago.

Are you using it on usb or wifi?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.

Expert:  Nathan replied 10 months ago.

Unplug power to the printer, reboot computer, when it comes back on, replug power then usb to printer,

then go here:

download and install the latest drivers there, and the printer will reinstall as part of that process.

Let me know if you get stuck.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.

it says the printer is already installed.

remember i have the same printer instaleld (Iris)

that if i want to i can connect another one.

when i do that the computer doesn't see my own printer

Expert:  Nathan replied 10 months ago.

Do you have them both connected via usb though?
You would be better off adding the 2nd one via wifi or ethernet if possible, so the ports and drivers don't get mixed up.

Or even have the other via usb to her computer and share through the network that way.

The HP wizzard "connect your USB printer now" comes up, but when i turn the printer on, the Windows "found new hardware" wizzard comes up and asks me if i'd like to install the hardware automatically or install from a list or specific location. what should i do?

Expert:  Nathan replied 10 months ago.

Let it install automatically, if you've previously run the download I mentioned above (which is to ensure you have the latest drivers).
