Customer Question

Have acquired a Monroe 990 desktop calculator, which uses nixie tubes. All tubes light, and at previous owner's house saw that numbers 0 through 9 could all be generated, but all 16 tubes would display the same number. Since dragging it home, it starts with all 8's, but I can "punch each one down" to 0 by successively hitting the --> key. Where would I start to do trouble-shooting (where are the resources)? Thanks!

Cancel my order #15817140-367. While I was at the computer, the machine must have 'warmed up' enough to work just fine! Thanks, ***** *****

Hey,

If the problem occurs again, then a solder joint on one of the IC's may be dry and need touching up - heat and expansion can cause the dry solder joint to make an intermittent connection when the machine is warmed up.
