Customer Question

i bought 2 (Q) x 4GB DDS-2 6400 memory modules for my pavilion elite m9340f system and the onboard alarm rang and rang failure. The system is rated for 8GB and with 1GB DDS-2 5300 of ram memory the system boots up fine with MS Windows 7 Ultimate -x64 OS in bank 1. i used memory bank 1 and 3. Do i need to use 4 modules of 2gb-2gb-2gb-2gb to get sucessful boot of 8GB?

Hi. My name is***** you for your question and the opportunity to assist. Your

hunch was correct. Each of the memory slots supports no more than 2GB chips.

Here's a link to the motherboard specs:

Look in the Memory Upgrade Information section for the description.

You should be able to exchange the memory for chips that will work with the board.

I know this probably isn't what you wanted to hear but please don't shoot the messenger.
