Wondering about SATA drive size limitations on a Dell SC1410

This answer was rated:

Wondering about SATA drive size limitations on a Dell SC1410 server... specs list 250 GB, but maybe that was max available when published, or could this be a bios limitation? Also, wonder how many SATA slots available and drive bays. I don't want to take it down to look. We are using Win 2003 server and would like to add two SATA drive with a software mirror

The max is 500GB per SATA drive.
There is a dual channel SATA controller on this server board, and two SATA drive slots.

You can easily add more SATA ports with a PCI card, of course.

Hope this helps!
