It is possible that the computer has multiple speaker input jacks but only one of them is for speaker output.

Can you try plugging the speaker plug into each of the jacks that have the same connector while playing audio to see if it is just the wrong jack you are using.

Hi Vince,

You should be able to find the model number on the back of the case. It should be a single word followed by a letter and number like this 'Aspire X3'.

And like I said before, most Acer models have multiple speaker jacks for output, input, and microphone, so it is possible it is not in the correct jack.

There should be a slight color applied to each jack though, and if so, you want to make sure you use the green colored one.

If this doesn't work, let me know the model name and number, and I will obtain the latest speaker software update for you.

Please let me know once you have tested all of the speaker jacks on your computer, and I will be happy to continue assisting you.

If none of my previous solutions have worked, we can try updating your sound drivers.

To do this I will need the Model name or number of your machine. If you cannot find it on the machine, can you visit:

and locate the machine you have, and provide the Model Name listed on the site?
