Customer Question
Recently had the carbs...

Recently had the carbs rebuilt on my 73 EType and cannot find a balance between running too rich or running too lean.

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model of your '73 Jaguar?

E Type V12

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?

Work done by a mechanic

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Much work was done to solve an overheating issue including head work. Car runs strong but w rich exhaust or rough idle

Mechanic's Assistant: Is the rough idle intermittent or consistent?

Depends on how the carbs are adjusted. Rough idle when leaned out and fumes when rich

Hello there,

I see you have not been attended to as yet.

Have all the carbs been set at a base setting, with equal throttle openings at base idle, and then verified airflow balance with a carb balancing tool?

Do you have access to a 4 or 5 gas analyser?
