I have a 1955 ford f-100 pickup with a 289 V-8 engine...I have been told becouse the power brakes are poor stoping the truck that I need a external vacumepump becouse the 289 don't heve enough vacuum produced it assist the brakes..What size pump do I need and where can I get one?? any help oould be healpful thank you

That's not correct, that engine produces plenty of vacuum on it's own if the timing is set properly too and not retarded.

If the timing is good, then you may need a different booster. Yours may be leaking internally.

Also, just to be sure were on the right track,check the master cylinder too if you haven't already done that.
