I installed a MSD electric distributor, new MSD coil, wires

Customer Question

I installed a MSD electric distributor, new MSD coil, wires and new plugs on my 1970 olds cutlass supreme 350 4bbl rocket. However now the engine runs rough when stepping up the rpm's?

Hi William,

You have a whole new system, now we need to work out which component is faulty.

Could be a rotor phasing issue, quite common with MSD now, and they have an adjustable rotor as an option.

Have you checked for spark output at the plug leads?

What part number distributor, and does it have a built in rev limiter?

Hi William,

Glad you got it sorted.

MSD has become unreliable as you have seen already.

I haven't used MSD for some time now.
