48 studebaker when i bring it up on #1 it is 360 off try to change and distributor wont drop in

If you're having problems getting the distributor to drop all the way in there's a quick trick you can do to make it work where it does drop in.

With it at top dead center on #1 just drop distributor back in with it 180 out and simply change the plug wire locations on the cap. Start with #1 wire at where the rotor is and work in the firing order which is 153624 going counterclockwise looking at the top of the distributor.
