Chevrolet 4 dr belair: I installed a front disc brake kit on

Customer Question

I installed a front disc brake kit on a 57 chevy original w power brakes. had a treadle vac booster and cantilever pedal assembly inside. Now I have about an 1" pedal travel and hard, still using cantilever pedal assembly. car will stop but need lots of pedal effort to stop. I have 15" vacumn. I mounted booster assembly to original mounting bracket on firewall. do I need to move booster assembly over and run booster directly off of brake and eliminate cantilever assembly? XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hi, I am a professional certified mechanic, with an engineering background, and 35+ years experience. I will do my best to assist you. Also keep in mind I don't know if you are a pro or a novice, so feel free to add any additional info at any time.
Can you tell me what parts, and what brand of parts you installed on it. Also do you know the inside diameter of the master cylinder.
