Hello, I have a 2005 PT Cruiser, W/ 4K miles, batt. must have gone down a while back, and now went to get inspection N.Y., and it failed, says bad o2 sensor, and cat., I drove 60 miles, tried again, fail, went out 100 mile run, tried and fail. the inspector said drive 55mph, coast to stop, and go..
JA: Have you located all of the vehicle's oxygen sensors? Are the wires leading to and from each intact and in good shape?
Customer: yes, car is as NEW.
JA: Are you fixing your PT Cruiser yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: this is my only car that does not need work. 4K miles as new!
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no thanks

does the engine light stay on?

why are they failing you with no codes?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
No engine light

they must be getting a pending code,,did they give you a code number?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
No

why are they thinking something is wrong with the cat or the o2sensors?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
The computer screen at the inspection station is saying O2 sensor and Cat.

please stand by. perhaps one of the other guys has a better idea of what is going on here.

someone will be right with you.

thanks

This means a specific drive cycle needs to be done for the o2 sensor and cat. Give me a few minutes to upload procedure for you, thanks.
